Harry Potter Matchmaking: Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower

The Harry Potter movie machine has been chugging along for ten years now, and has employed thousands of people.  A fair number of romances have assuredly sprung up over the course of the past decade as a direct result of shared Potter employment — yet probably none quite as adorable as Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower.

Wright officially met Bower at a party, but the two both appear in Deathly Hallows — Wright as Ginny, of course, and Bower as Grindelwald, the wizard from Dumbledore’s past.  (Bower also appears in The Twilight Saga as the Volturi’s Caius.)

The two have been dating for six months but officially came out as a couple at this year’s BAFTA awards.  Ginny and Grindelwald — now there’s an odd couple for you.

We’ve seen videos and concept art in preparation of Universal Orlando’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, but here’s the first photo of what Hogwarts Castle will look like.  Very, very cool!

First 2 Official Still Photos of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

They don’t show a heck of a lot, but still, these are indeed official production photos from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  The first one seems to take place in 12 Grimmauld Place, while the second could be a lot of things.  Right now my guess is it’s right before Harry, Ron, and Hermione infiltrate the Ministry of Magic.  Check ‘em out:

Harry Potter ‘Ultimate Editions’ Trailer & Info

In anticipation for the final two chapters of the Harry Potter saga, Warner Bros. is starting to release a series of “Ultimate Edition” DVDs and Blu-Ray of each Potter film loaded to the brim with special features.  Upcoming Ultimate Editions of the first two films, Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, both come with five disks and a special features list longer than War and Peace.

Some special features highlights, courtesy of MuggleNet:

Sorcerer’s Stone:
- Introduction by Daniel Radcliffe - An introduction to the many special features for the Harry Potter films [NEW]
- Creating the World of Harry Potter, Part 1: The Magic Begins: discover the story of how one vision for the Harry Potter films came together out of limitless possibilities to create the visual world we have come to know and love [NEW]
- In-Movie Experience with Director Chris Columbus: an interactive viewer experience where the entire film is examined; includes PiP, storyboard comparisons, still galleries (BD exclusive)
- WB Maximum Movie Mode picture-in-picture programming, cast walk-ons, focus points, graphics and more (BD exclusive)

Chamber of Secrets:
- Creating the World of Harry Potter, Part 2: Characters - Explore how the cast and creative team of directors and designers take the characters’ descriptions on the page to the actors’ performances on film. [NEW]
- Screen Tests of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson [NEW]
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Revealed - 2002 HBO First Look special

It’s a great idea to include chapters of the “Creating the World of Harry Potter” featurette series across all the movies — if they keep it going through the Ultimate Edition releases of all eight films, it could be a pretty formidable documentary altogether.

Here’s a trailer for the first two editions.  It’s got plenty of good stuff in and of itself, including a couple of bloopers and a look at one of the kids’ screen tests:

Possible ‘Half-Blood Prince’ DVD Cover Art?

MuggleNet uncovered what’s supposedly the box art for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2-disc DVD:

As striking as the modern London background is, it seems a bit disingenuous now that we know the much-heralded “attack on the bridge” scene lasted all of thirty seconds.  The rest is all Hogwarts and dim lighting and quills.

Voldemort Tops EW’s ‘Charming But Deadly’ List

The weirdest picture I've ever seen.

Entertainment Weekly loves making lists these days, and the latest is “17 Characters Who Are Charming — But Deadly.”  Voldemort comes in as the last person on the list.  Does that mean he’s the most charming but deadly, or the least?  I can’t tell.

Anyway, here’s what they say about our favorite racist psychopathic dark wizard:

Known as the Dark Lord to those who dare not speak his name, this corrupted wizard represents ultimate evil in the world of J.K. Rowling’s magical books. And as played by the regal Ralph Fiennes — with childhood assists from young actors like Christian Clouson, Frank Dillane, and Fiennes’ own nephew, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin — it’s easy to see how Voldemort could seduce anyone to the dark side.

Yeah, Ralph Fiennes is really cool.  But not enough to convince me to fight for the dark side.  Gryffindor! Gryffindor!

Our very own Draco Malfoy will show up in the upcoming Jonah Hill/Russell Brand comedy Get Him to the Greek.  Actor Tom Felton announced his role via Twitter:

They’re Really Hyping Up This Ron/Lavender Thing

It’s another week, which means it’s time to post even more posters.  Of the five new ones, two of them feature the Ron/Lavender/Hermione love triangle.  Let’s hope the entire movie isn’t just Hermione being mad at Ron; I was more looking forward to the Harry/Ginny thing.

Oh, and Luna.  I really can’t get enough of Luna.  Evanna Lynch was probably the best part of Order of the Phoenix.

4 New ‘Half-Blood Prince’ Behind-the-Scenes Photos

Warner Bros. released four extra behind-the-scenes photos this week, plus a random close up of Hermione.

What’s that, you say?  After six trailers, fourteen posters, and a couple of video featurettes, you’re not impressed with behind-the-scenes photos?  Me neither.  Just don’t tell Warner Bros.  It’s exactly a month until Half-Blood Prince comes out, and they’re obviously desperately trying to give us a steady string of material to talk about.

A Greyback Poster, Plus 3 More

Who knew a certain Lupin-biting werewolf named Fenrir Greyback would make it on one of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’s dozens of posters?  And yet there he is, grinning behind Ron.

The other posters feature a design we haven’t exactly seen before, but in general, it’s same-old, same-old.  Release the movie already.
