HARRY POTTER BOOK SELLS RECORD COPIES

The publishers of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows have announced that the seventh and final book in the series sold record number of copies around the world in its first day on sell.

In the United States and UK, the book sold almost 11 millions copies in its first twenty-four hours.  In Australia, it sold more than 500,000 copies - a 64 percent increase over sells of the last book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Other first day figures include over 900,000 in Canada, 2,000 copies in China and 170,000 in India.
