Gaming giant Electronic Arts is bringing Harry Potter to Apple's Macintosh computers. EA's Chief creative officer Bing Gordon made the announcement at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference.
"Harry Potter is Electronic Art's best wizard and he needs a wand; unlike Steve Jobs who needs just imagination," said Gordon. The Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix game will release for Mac in July. The game will ship for PC and major consoles on June 26th.
In addition to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, EA will release several other titles on Mac including Battlefield 2142, Command & Conquer and sports juggernaut Madden Football. "Electronic Arts, the number-one game publisher, is coming back to the Mac in a big way," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs. "That is great news.
Software companies have traditionally shied away from producing software for Apple computers, but increased popularity with the computers and peripherals such as the iPod and upcoming iPhone has begun to change perception.
