The producers of next year's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are holding open casting calls on July 1st and 8th at Earls Court Exhibition Center in London.

On July 1st, they will be searching for a girl between the ages of 15-18 to play the role of Lavender Brown, Ron Weasley's first girlfriend.  On July 8th, they will be looking for boys age 15-18 to play the role of Tom Riddle, the boy who eventually becomes Lord Voldemort.  All applicants must be legal residents of the UK or Ireland and posses a valid passport.

LAVENDER BROWN (July 1st)

Lavender is in the same year as Harry, Ron and Hermione at Hogwarts.  We are looking for someone between 15-18yrs to play her.  Lavender is a pretty and lively girl who loves to be the center of attention.  She is determined to make Ron her boyfriend and when she gets him, she is then deeply possessive of him.  She reacts in an extreme way to everything.  She tends to be either laughing or crying hysterically.

TOM RIDDLE (July 8th)

We meet Tom when he is 16 and at Hogwarts.  We are looking for someone between 15-18yrs to play him.  He is a boy that other kids want to be friends with.  He is a leader and other children want to be around him.  He is not a warm boy, but he is very charismatic.  Both staff and children are probably all a little scared of him.

APPLICANTS MUST BE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 15-18yrs WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE UK OR IRELAND.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.  WE WILL TAKE APPLICATIONS FROM 10AM, NO QUEUEING BEFORE 8AM AND THE QUEUE WILL CLOSE AT 1PM.  YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SHOW A COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT AS PROOF OF AGE AND NATIONALITY.  YOU WILL FILL IN AN APPLICATION FORM, HAVE YOUR PHOTO TAKEN AND WILL BRIEFLY BE SEEN BY THE CASTING TEAM.  IF WE THINK YOU MIGHT BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE ROLE WE WILL GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU.

COME AS YOURSELF %u2013 STRICTLY NO MAKE-UP, NO COSTUMES, NO HIGH HEELS.  IF YOU ARE NOT BETWEEN THE AGE OF 15-18YRS OR YOU ARE NOT RESIDENT IN THE UK OR IRELAND, AND DO NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PAPERWORK WITH YOU, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO MAKE AN APPLICATION.
